Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about signing in, tracking achievements, and getting the most out of Tenacity.

How do I sign in to Tenacity?

There are two ways to sign in:

Sign in with Steam (recommended) - tap "Sign in with Steam" and log in through Steam's official sign-in page. Tenacity only accesses your public Steam profile and game library data; your password is never shared with the app.

Sign in with Steam ID (advanced) - if you'd rather not use the Steam login popup, enter your Steam profile URL or Steam ID directly:

  1. Open steamcommunity.com and sign in with your Steam account.
  2. Copy the URL of the page you land on (it should look something like steamcommunity.com/id/SomeNumbers).
  3. Paste that URL (or just your Steam ID) into Tenacity.

Either way, your Steam profile needs to be set to public for the app to work.

My achievements aren't showing up. What's wrong?

This almost always means your Steam profile is set to private. Tenacity reads your achievement and game data directly from Steam, so a few settings need to be public:

  1. Open your Steam profile privacy settings and sign in.
  2. Set "My profile" to Public.
  3. Set "Game details" to Public.
  4. Uncheck "Always keep my total playtime private even if my game details are public."

Changes can take a couple of minutes to take effect on Steam's side.

One specific game is missing. How do I fix it?

This is usually a quirk of how Steam reports demos and a handful of other games - Steam doesn't return them as "owned," but it does return them once they show up in your recently played games. Launch the game on Steam for even a few seconds, then sync again in Tenacity - it should now appear.

What is Tenacity Score?

Tenacity Score is your overall achievement score for a game - it's the sum of all achievement points, and achievement points are based on the rarity of the achievement. Your Total Tenacity Score is that same score added up across your whole library, so it's a single number you can use to compare progress at a glance.

How is a game's difficulty calculated?

Difficulty is estimated based on the percentage of players who've unlocked a game's achievements. A low difficulty rating doesn't guarantee a quick 100%, but it means most players who try do end up unlocking everything.

How is my average completion percentage calculated?

It's the average completion percentage across every game where you've unlocked at least one achievement - the same formula Steam uses in its own achievement showcase.

Why can't I see the description for a hidden achievement?

Some games mark achievements as "hidden" to avoid spoilers, and Steam doesn't expose their descriptions until unlocked. In Tenacity's settings you can control when hidden achievement descriptions are shown: never, always, or only when you tap on one.

Does Tenacity have ads?

Yes, the free version includes ads. A one-time in-app purchase removes ads throughout the app for good and helps support ongoing development of new features.

Is Tenacity available on both iOS and Android?

Yes - Tenacity is available on both the App Store and Google Play. Use the download buttons on the home page to get it.
